Typhoon Yolanda Relief
On November 8, 2013, the Philippines was devastated by Typhoon Haiyan, known as Super Typhoon Yolanda. It was one of the strongest tropical cyclones ever recorded.
People all over the world were doing their part in helping the victims who were effected by the disaster and we wanted to help out too.
As a filipino, this was heartbreaking. PLR immediately acquired a 20ft shipping container, and we asked for help from people all over Perth for donations of water, non-perishable foods, first aid and medicine, candles and any used clothings. The response was overwhelming. The amount of donations we received from everyone was unimaginable that we had to acquire another 40ft container.
We had volunteers to help out load the container as the amount of work was immense. We worked for days, all day and through late into the night to get the container loaded with donations to send to Red Cross Philippines.
We are very proud of the community coming together for helping such a great cause.
Thanks again to all the people all over Perth who donated and those who took their time to help pack all donations in PLR boxes and loading them into the containers. We couldn't have done it without you all.
